Takes
place every September
This event is sponsored by the Alberta Business
Association and celebrates Alberta Street, one of Portland's most
unique, diverse and creative communities.
It's a community affair on NE Alberta Street, a
street alive with vitality. The fair promises to open minds, young
and old, to new tastes and cultures. Eat at one of the street's many
restaurants (ranging from Thai and Mexican to Southern cooking), or
stop by one of the food vendors' booths. Three stages will present a
variety of musical offerings, including Gypsy Caravan, Shoehorn Trio,
and Cantaloupe. A parade complete with decorated bikes, costumed
pets, and all manner of mobile spectacles will be on hand, as well
as a horse-drawn trolley. Children are encouraged to participate in
art activities such as painting and clay working at the Children's
bbq imageCenter, located at 14th place, and a face painter will be
on hand.
Alberta
Street merchants, with their unique variety of eclectic services,
shops, galleries and restaurants, will be participating with special
sales, activities and on-site entertainment. Several vendor
marketplace locations will also be offering distinctive arts, crafts
and non-profit organization booths.
