Annual Alberta Art Hop will take place on Saturday,
May 17th. This creative/cultural arts festival is
put on by the street's local business owners and
artists, coordinated by Art on Alberta.Together we create community through the
power of the arts.

Each year a theme guides
the project.This year's
theme is "Synergy"
Artists and residents will demonstrate, using various original art
forms from visual arts to fashion, what the Alberta arts district
means as a community.
The festival theme will throw a spotlight on what's new and special,
what lights up our eyes and our imaginations.
Every year, Art Hop chooses one artist to feature for its annual
celebration, strategically placing their artwork at various
locations on Alberta Street. For the 2008 Art Hop, we are
conveying the idea of "synergy" by choosing three artists to
represent the cultural diversity of Alberta Street. This
year's artists are Adrienne Cruz, Analee Fuentes, and Tripper Dungan.

Art Students and Artists marketing their work,
Bands, Strolling Performers, Impromptu Street Performance, Art
Bicycles, or the hundreds of visiting Artists displaying and
promoting their own creations street side, there is something to
delight anyone.
As street elder Allan Oliver of Onda Gallery
puts it: "Art has a transcendent kind of power. It adds an aspect
that is very important to the emotional and spiritual quality of our
lives and to the community in which we live."
